I never quite have the words to say to explain how it feels to be a birth photographer. It is such an amazing experience, such an honor to be let into a couple’s lives during these intimate, emotional moments. I’m always a little beside myself that y’all trust ME to capture such an important event, and I have to say, they have become some of my favorite sessions. It’s even better when mom and dad bring baby back for a newborn session, which they did! Little Sawyer’s newborn session will be up next on the blog! But back to the moment… Like I said before, I don’t have the words, but as the saying goes: “a picture is worth a thousand words”, so here’s a couple thousand for you 😀
At this point, poor Kaylyn had already been in labor all night the night before, and all day. I kept checking my phone, waiting, and she greeted me with a smile.
They had already come to the conclusion that she would likely need a c-section, and for that, they were sad, and scared….
They talked about it. A lot.
There were tears…
And silliness 🙂
Do you see the cross in the back? I believe someone was watching over them.
Once the decision was made, everyone wanted to lighten the mood, bring a smile, and silently pray for the best.
It’s a long, fast walk to that bright light room…
Dad waited quietly
New life begins.
Can you spot the dorky photographer? 😉
This baby is LOVED
Although, he did not love the bath.
Congratulations mom & dad!
